There is certainly more than one way to approach and take on a particular event.  This especially rings true in the area of prospecting.  While some agents attempt to follow the Passive Path of playing the numbers, other agents realize that the Active Path offers a far greater conversation opportunity.

Sending the FSBO a marketing piece through the mail. VS Knocking on the door step of the For Sale By Owner.
     
Mass mailing to all the recently expired properties. VS Call or stop by the expired listings, one by one.
     
Mailing out your open house invitations. VS Door knocking before an Open House, inviting neighbors and asking 'who do they know?'.
Sits around in the grey.   Pushes it to the RED!
