Be Patient. Depending on the size of the print job you've sent, it may take a few minutes to start printing (particularly on the 4500). Sending the job multiple times only slows the printer down more.
 
Please refrain from printing on card stock. We've found this to be very hard on the 4500.
 
Know to which printer you've sent your print request and remember to pick it up.
 
Limit print job to 50 pages. This will give others a chance to get their job printed in a timely fashion.

During the busiest time of the day, typically 10a.m. 3:30p.m., limit your time on the shared computers to 30 minutes. This will give everyone a chance to use them.
 
The 4500 color laser printer is for printing only client-related pieces. Please do any personal color printing on the 1600 deskjet color printers.
 
Please send black & white print requests to the laserjet 4 & 5 printers.
 
If you run into a problem with the computer or printer, don't walk away from it without letting someone know there is a problem. Any issues can then be resolved quickly.
 
Again, BE PATIENT. Continuing to click to get something to work only confuses the computer. Give it a chance to do what you want it to do.
 
Computer work of a personal nature should be done only at "off peak" times.
 
Remember to "log off" your session.

Hello Gang,

Our new color printer has seen some phenomenal use.  29,850 copies last month alone!  While for the most part, everyone is respectful of the printing guidelines, we would like to take a moment to re-address some key points:

LASER JET PAPER ONLY!!  NO glossy type paper like photo paper or ink jet paper.  The paper the office provides is laserjet paper.

If there is a paper jam, please be patient pulling the jammed paper out.  One teensy piece missed can cause major problems.

Be gentle.  The doors on the printer close easily, slamming them will break the catches that hold them closed.

If you print job is more than 50 copies, please consider using a copy company like Kinkos or Insty Prints for that job.

If you don't need color copies (for clients), please send your print job to the black and white printer.

Consider using the 4500.

Personal printing should be kept to a minimum.

With your cooperation our printer will have a long happy life.
